PRIVACY POLICY
What we collect
When you create an account we store your email address and the name you give us. You may also let the app use your location, which we use to decide which photographers and customers are near enough to each other to be worth showing. We store the position your phone reports, where only you can see it. If you are a photographer, other users see a rounded version — to within about a kilometre — so customers can be matched by distance; a customer's location is never shown to anyone.
If you are a photographer, we store the photographs you upload, the captions and categories you give them, your bio, years of experience, website and Instagram handle if you enter them, and the prices you set.
If you are a customer, we store which photographs you liked or passed on. That record is what stops you being shown the same work twice and is how a match is decided.
If you try a round before creating an account, the app signs you in anonymously — no email, no name — and stores which photographs you liked or passed on against that anonymous ID, the same as for a customer. If you then create an account, that record becomes your account's, so you don't have to swipe again. If you don't, it is deleted automatically, with the anonymous ID, once it has gone unused for 30 days.
Each time you start a round we also record the kind of photography, how many photographs it holds, your budget if you set one, and a coarse area — a grid square tens of kilometres across, never your exact location. When the round ends we note which photographers made your top three. We use these only added up with everyone else's, to show photographers anonymous statistics about demand near them and how their kind of work is received locally. No photographer ever sees a single round, and nothing they are shown can identify you.
If you ask to be told when a photographer joins near you, we store the kind of photography and the same coarse area, only so we can send you that one notification; you can cancel it at any time.
We store the messages you send through the app, and a notification token for each device you sign in on so we can tell you about matches and messages.
If the app crashes, it sends us a crash report. As you use it, it also sends usage statistics: which screens you open, and actions such as starting a round, matching or sending a message — never what a message says. Both go through Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase, and are tied to your account's ID number, not your name or email. We use them only to fix bugs and improve the app, never for advertising.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show advertising. We do not share your details with other users beyond what the app openly displays: during a round, photographers are anonymous, and names appear only once the round ends or you match.
Who processes it
The app runs on Google Firebase, which stores the data above on our behalf. Subscription payments are handled by Stripe, who process card details directly — we never see or store your card number.
Keeping and deleting it
You can clear your swipe history at any time from Settings, which permanently deletes that record.
You can delete your account from inside the app, in Settings. We ask for your password first, to be sure it is you. Your account stops appearing to anyone straight away, and the data is kept for 45 days so you can change your mind by signing back in and cancelling. After 45 days it is erased automatically: your profile, your photographs and the files behind them, your swipe history, your round records, and your sign-in.
One thing survives, deliberately. If you have matched and exchanged messages, that conversation belongs to the other person as much as to you, so it is kept — with your name replaced by "Deleted user" and your photo removed. We do not delete messages out of someone else's inbox.
You can still write to us at the address below if you would rather we did it for you.
